Hanging with my Bro

At the top of the "Eiffel Tower"

A few weeks ago my brother in North Carolina took his youth group to King's Dominion for Kingsfest. It was so great because I have season passes to KD, so my husband Phil and I met up with my brother (also named Phil) and hung out with him for a few hours. We had a blast. He went on rides with our kids, and they loved hanging out with their uncle. I'm so glad I got to spend some time with him.

Best Friends

Chili and Christina are best buddies. Yet, I'm wondering if Chili is just tolerating Christina at times. Christina kisses and hugs our kitty every chance she gets. Chili is very good about it. I think they look so cute hanging out together. Anyway, here is another picture to show what I mean:
Chili has this look of "Please save me from all this attention!" I guess the death grip around her neck would annoy anyone. I still think these pictures are the sweetest ones ever! Too cute!

Another milestone reached

I am so proud! Well, not really. My daughter has figured out how to take off her diaper. She takes it off in her crib. She takes it off in her crib only when there is poop in it. I guess it is time to wash her sheets again. I have pictures from when one of my sons figured out this neat trick. He used to do it on Sunday mornings, and we were late to church a couple times. I am going to be sweet and spare you the picture. Anyway, Christina left me another poopy crib surprise after her nap. Time to convert to one piece footy pajamas.

Independence Day

We had a wonderful Fourth of July weekend. We went to Lake Anna for the weekend to visit my in-laws. Christina had her first jetski ride(waverunner)! No pictures of that, but I'll get one next time. She looked so cute and proud of herself. She had her infant lifevest on; I drove at 5 mph, maybe 10 mph max. She was thrilled to be a big girl like her brothers. Maybe I'm a little nuts to put an18 month old on a jetski, but we were very safe about it.
Part of the time it rained, so we had to do some activities indoors:
Making cookies with Grand-daddy

Washing beloved Doggy
Helping Me-Maw cook

We watched some fireworks at the lake put on by neighbors, and my father-in-law. Christina went to sleep really late because the neighbors were shooting their fireworks off late into the night.

The neighborhood that the grandparents live in put on a cute parade, smaller than I have ever seen before. People decorated their golf carts, and drove around the neighborhood. Like I said, it was small. The kids liked the free candy. Here's one last picture, because I have to show off my daughter's cute little independence day outfit:
We wrapped up the weekend by going to King's Dominion for a couple hours and watching their fireworks from our car in a thunderstorm. It was a busy weekend. Lots of great family memories were made.

Running Behind

Life has gotten so busy lately, I am falling behind so quickly in my blog. However, there are things I still want to blog about, so I'm determined to catch up some tonight. There are pictures I want to post and events I want to write about. So stay tuned!

My First Treasury

I'm so excited because I got chosen to be in a Treasury for 2 days on Etsy! For those of you who aren't familiar with Etsy, a treasury is when one of your items is advertised as a favorite of other Etsy sellers. It is basically great publicity and a huge compliment. Here it is: Treasury
It is the turquoise and coral necklace by HiddenTreasure. This link will only last for 2 days. If you don't see my necklace, maybe it has already sold. I hope so!

Flowers in Bloom!

See this gladiolus. I think it is beautiful, and it makes me happy when I see them out in the backyard. I've even brought some in, and they are in a vase. Hope it brightens your day too.
My hibiscus has been blooming all summer; it makes me feel like I'm in Florida.

Attack of the Ringworm!

My daughter Christina started developing spots yesterday on her waist and on her legs. I wondered, is she getting chickenpox? Nope! Because, today the spots are spreading out into circular shapes. I'm convinced it is ringworm. She had ringworm a few months ago, just a little in her diaper area. I treated it, and it went away. Now it is back with a vengeance! I still have antifungal cream on hand, so I treated every spot a few minutes ago. It usually takes a month to disappear completely. Poor girl; I'm sure it is uncomfortable. I'm starting to wonder if our 8 month kitty is a carrier. . . . I've heard that kittens can sometimes spread it.

A Little Frustrated

I am letting our tight finances get to me too much. I know a lot of other people are in the same boat with this economy, and the gas prices. So, I have been doing some serious thinking today. If money wasn't an issue, I would stay home with my kids. I am still planning on going to my interview Monday just to keep that door open for the moment. However, I am going to concentrate on my Etsy store; it is something that I love doing; and I am still going to keep looking for a child to take care of in my home for some other mom that has to work. I am afraid that if I go back to work, all I would be doing is making enough money to send my youngest 2 kids to daycare. It has been my dream since I was little to be a mommy, and now that I am, I want to stay home to enjoy it! The child I was going to watch seems to be falling through. God has a plan, but I just wish I knew what it was at the moment.

Stay at Home?

I wrote about going to work, but now I still am not sure. I have been talking to another mom and I might stay at home and watch her child. Please keep praying as I make these choices! I really would love to stay home. . . . crazy economy.
